Always a destination for arts, entertainment, and a great meal, Columbia’s Congaree Vista is hosting its fifth annual epicurean event to give the Southeast a taste of its award-winning restaurants. Viva La Vista will provide an open and creative environment for visitors to expand their palates by sampling Southern and international cuisine and beverages.
After huge success in years past, Viva La Vista is the Congaree Vista’s newest signature event. This year, visitors can look forward to another wallet-friendly day of sampling the best food Columbia has to offer.
Additionally, more than 300 runners participated in the first Doctor’s Care 5K Dash to the Vista, which took place the morning of Viva La Vista in 2011. Once again, the race will take place at 10 a.m. before the tasting portion of the festival. Participants will receive six free tokens for food and beverages and an official race t-shirt. For more details and registration, stay tuned to www.vivalavistasc.com.
Music has always been a part of Viva La Vista, and in 2012 the event will feature even more bands, national touring artists, and stages.
Admission to Viva La Vista is free, but $1 tokens are used to purchase food and beverages. It all happens on Saturday, September 29 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Congaree Vista (in and around the Gervais Street corridor at Lincoln Street).
